Here's my card...

I used Pepper with Gift from the Christmas Collection. She was colored with Copics, cut out and mounted on 3d foam. I cut out the gift she was holding and replaced it with a MS heart scallop punch. Center of heart was colored with a red copic marker. I also tried to make it look like she is wearing a lace headband, ribbon and a part of her dress. Card is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".

Sugar Bowl 77: Love

For this Sugar Bowl challenge,

we have a fun sketch from Kiki with an option of making Love themed cards.

To win 4 Sugar Nellie stamps of your choice (6 stamps if there are over 100 entries)

Please use a Sugar Nellie image and the sketch of course.

Here's my take on the sketch...

I've used darling Rosie (minus her halo). She was colored with Copics, cut out and mounted on 3d foam. I've also added glitters on her dress. The envelope behind her was custom made because I wanted the heart to poke out the way it does now :) Papers are My Mind's Eye. Edges of grey DP were hand stitched with interchanged pink and blue thread.

I used scraps (back design of the pink laced banners) for the envelope liner. The Spellbinders classic and scallop hearts die cuts were paper pierced and sponged. Sentiments are PTI. I was able to put 2 hearts in the envelope. I think a 3rd one would fit too?

Inside... Using the largest Spellbinders Shapeabilities Heart die, I sponged the areas around it. I then stamped the sentiment on top. Ribbon and hearts are MS punch outs. Border dies are from MFT and I did some hand sewing for the border.

Hand sewed edges with pink thread and silver on the heart border. I sponged the edges with pink ink and I again stamped Rosie (minus halo) with light Pink to make her look like a watermark. Edges were stickled :) The DP with the writing is the half of the blue striped DP on the cover (back portion of the DP showing).

Sugar Bowl 76: Paper Piecing

Hello everyone and a very late Happy New Year!

For this Thursday's Sugar Bowl challenge,

we have a lovely sketch from Sugar Mama Gayle with an option of Paper Piecing.

To win the awesome prize,

I've rotated the sketch this way.

Here's my take on the sketch...

I used the image called Let them eat cake... as a girl. She is really a fairy but I chose to remove her wings and "pom pom-med" hairband. You can do this with almost all the fairies I think. She is my first try as an ordinary girl. ;) She's part of the October release at Funky Kits and I only got to ink this cutie now.

Paper pieced her dress and shoes. I wanted to paper piece her hair too but couldn't find a nice looking color for it so scrapped the idea. DP for the dress is Basic Grey. All other DP used are from Melissa Frances 6x6 Kitschy collection pad. I also used clear and red Spica pens and bits of glitter on her clothes, shoes, hairband and the cake.

Open first flap. Base is kraft paper. Used Magnolia scallop dies. The papers on the flap are all from scrap. I did not cut the white space (the top portion from the paper pad) off from the gingham DP - it's showing underneath the blue scallops. Same with the blue DP.. the whites are under the scrap of horizontal paper cut from the striped paper... um, that made sense to you? :)

Full card opened. Filigree border is from PTI. I stamped Pippi Longsocks (minus wings as much as I could) with light brown ink but it smudged badly so I topped it with Yellow Spica pen. She is pretty sparkly now :) Sentiment is by SU! Again, did some surgery with the scraps of DP I used on the cover.

Another shot of the insides with flap closed and of course.. faux stitches :)

Closed card measures 5 1/2" x 5 1/2"

Sugar Nellie Fairy Glen Blog Hop!

Faye and Freddie were colored with Copics. Before airbrushing the background, the image was masked. The round frame was taped on a 5 1/4" square white paper when I airbrushed, so the background scene would have continuity. :) I know the top of the white round frame looks wider , maybe it's because I took the photo at a high angle? It's really equal.

The round lacey looking frame is an old Inque Boutique stamp. It was a quarter shape and I had to stamp it four times to make a circle. I stamped it with white pigment ink then applied mica powder on top as a last minute add. It's really a shimmery shimmery card. I know, I should have used versamark or was it glue pad? :( I couldn't find them so I used white pigment ink that was on the table...

When I made the card last month, my craft stuff were mostly packed (still am remodeling our room) so I had to use what was on hand. :)

Wings were colored with aqua twinkling h20s and I added some glitter for dots using a quickie pen. If I had another chance to redo, I would use tiny rhinestones on her wings for the dots instead of silver glitter dots. Added gold glitters on the flower centers on her hair.

Colored with Copics. Lynda loves to used sparkle on her cards so in honor of her birthday and special digi, I added some sparkle in my card too. Not that I really need any pushing there right? ;) Hand stitched silver thread around the round frame. I used black glittered paper for the round scallop frame. DP is from October Afternoon. I also added some pearly looking ribbons on the edge.. to make it look like the bottom of a curtain :) It really is a shiny sparkly card in real life.

My image is called Leny Notes. It's really just one cute bear but I "multiplied" him 4 times so I can spell out S.W.A.K. They were cut out and taped on brown cs. The letters are my handwritten by me using a sharpie pen. Card is 4 1/14"x 5 1/2" Kraft cs base.

A Pen Friend has been colored with Copics and cut out with round Nestabilities die. I used the largest scalloped heart for my base. Topped with a cream cs heart. I used my October Afternoon scraps to make the weaving, taped the back with tape so they would stay in place. Faux stitching around the heart. :)

Sugar Bowl 67: Scraps

We have a lovely sketch from Erika this Sugar Bowl Thursday

and for this challenge the option is using scraps.

Special Delivery was colored with Copics and cut out. I removed the window frame because I wanted to use the base as a shelf. I added punched out leaves, pearls for a wreath looking decor. The cut out image had to be mounted on 3d foam.

For my scraps, I used the "rejects" for my previous cards, the round scalloped and round DP frames. I also added 2 round silver lines on the edges. I was supposed to use them for my previous card but they were stashed instead.

JOY ornaments - 1 1/8" round punched circle and sponged with pink ink. Silver ribbon cords to hang them with. The snowflakes were also from scrap pile and the letters are Tim Holtz Vintage die cut. Card is 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" white base.

Halloween Cutie...

Little Witch with Broom is from the Belles N Whistles Holiday Collection.

I've paper pieced her hat, robes and the pumpkins. Coloring with Copics was done on her face, hair, robe trim, broom and the background. DP is Cosmo Cricket Matilda. She was stamped on white cardstock, cut out and mounted on a black glitter scalloped frame. MS spiderweb punch for the top and bottom borders. The card base is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" cream cs base.

Before I get on with my regular post, I would like to thank all the lovely hoppers who visited and left such lovely comments for the latest Sugar Nellie release.

Double cards today... and both are illustrated by Elisabeh Bell.

I made a card using Curly Locks Kiki for the Digi Bells DT blog today. She was colored with Copics and cut out. Blue gingham DP is from Memory Box. For the background, I stamped quilt blocks on colored cs. Hand sewn edges. Card size is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".

My next card is a very late submission for the Copic Creations Challenge.

What's in the Box is from the Peekers Collection 2. I wanted to do a vintagey/shabby chic looking card. Well, um... not perfect but I am happy with the result. :) She was colored with Copics, cut out and glued on an oval frame. I cut her out because I could not decide on a round or oval frame background. Applied chunky glitter on the doily. I also applied silver glitters on the ribbon. The underside of the ribbon has no glitters because they are flat underneath. DP is Crafty Secrets.

For my card today, I've colored Hello Little Robin with Copics this time :)

Gold glitters on her scarf, star and around the round frame. Viva decor liner pen on her wings. Chunky coarse glitters on the ground for snow. The kraft card base was stamped with red holly images. Edges lined with gold then mounted on 3d foam on a red cs base whose edges were also lined with gold. :P Holly punch is MS and I added red gems for the berries. Card base is red.

The inside has a repeat of the Holly border punched blank card for notewriting.

Sugar Nellie Sneak Week Day 7

Welcome to the last day of the Sneak Week...

And to top everything Sugar Nellie will be having a 2 day blog hop! ;)

I am very honored to present Heavenly Angel.

I colored everything with Prisma colored pencils on Neenah paper. Yep, no Copics today. :) I used colored pencils because I wanted this glow-y effect around the stars or on the angel. I applied gamsol or OMS on the background for a smooth finish. The little angel has been enlarged a bit so I can color the details better but I wasn't brave enough to use OMS on the image... I might destroy everything lol! Image was cut out and adhered on a white 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" card base.

You can use this image all year round.. For birthdays - make a wish, good luck card, sending you get well wishes... you get the idea :) She can be colored with a daytime background too. I just couldn't resist making a night time Christmas card with her. :)

BnW: Anki's Sketch with a Twist

I used Snow Fight Snow Baby from the Snow Babies Collection. She was colored with Copics. I sprayed Silver Glimmer mist on the white MS punched out borders before I adhered them to the Memory Box Winter DP. Stamped swirls in Grey and blue. Card is 5 1/2" x 5 1/2".

Sugar Bowl: For the Girls

My card...

I used All is not Lost and she was colored with Copics. Instead of a round frame, I just colored and cut out the main image. The round frame is going to be invisible. ;) The papers are from a Tim Holtz paper pad. Edges were lined with Silver pen. The three horizontal strips are silver glitter on double sided tape.

Image was cut out and mounted on 3d foam on the cream cs with stamped frame image. The frame (edges were lined with silver pen) was also mounted on 3d foam. Flowers were mounted on 3d foam. These are old prima (?) ones. I am still *thinking* about buying some WOC ones :P heeee.

EBW Challenge: 3 in a row

For this month's EBW challenge we have a fun board with a list of embellishments you choose to use in your card :) Just choose 3 in a row... Isn't that lovely?

I chose chipboard, lace and punches...

Pretty in Patches is from the Belles N Whistles Sweet Art Girls 2 Collection. She was colored with Copics. I chose to use the oval scallop for my lace. My sister saw me while I was covering the pages and she asked if she could have the booklet. I was only too happy to say yes. While I was decorating the page.. she requested for a plain lace and not the frilly one :P

I covered the front and back of each page with different October Afternoon papers and um, only this page has a decoration on it. The rest of the pages will be decorated some day. She was supposed to be on the cover but my sister, wanted this background dp for her. Yep, I color before I choose the papers, I covered the booklet "before" I knew where to put what. It's a sickness I think :P ugh.

The good thing about this booklet is that you can choose which is your front or back. Am I making sense? I'll be using metal rings to bind this book. I'll be adding pages in between. So these boards will serve as dividers. For all we know, she'd use this as her cover. Doesn't matter really... I'm just happy she loves it even before I finish it. :)

Tutorial: Roof Tiles

Hello! It's my turn to post today :)

I made this card during the previous blog hop and I am going to make a tutorial on how I did the roof tiles.

I used a scallop border die - you can use any die or punch with a scalloped edge. For the paper, I wanted terracotta tiles color or something close to it anyway. I used some old SU In- Color paper. Sponged edges with grey ink for a rustic look. I always want to use my scraps first so I have no specific measurements. I just made sure the length will fit the roof I need. :)

Fold each scallop...

For added dimension, I rolled the strip with colored pencil. Whatever you have on hand to roll with it is fine. If your scallops are bigger, I would suggest using a round cylinder with a thicker barrel. I really like how the tiles are showing up now :)

Used the biggest/widest strip underneath the card.

I "sandwiched" the kraft cs in between roof tiles so the back portion of the flap would be clean. Layered the strips of tiles - used double sided tape. After that I cut the edges at an angle to give it a roof shape.

Easy right? I hope I made sense there lol!

Copic Creations: Blue Greens

My image is called Mum Girl. She and the background were colored with Copics. Like you didn't know that :) I applied yellow ornage stickles on the flower centers. I drew an art nouveau frame background for her because I think it fits her :) I left the circles plain - wanted to add some Viva decor pearl pens in the circle centers but my sister and mom told me to leave it alone :)

Frame is copper paper from stash. DP is K and Co and I used a gold pen for the line around the DP. I used the same DP for the card insides too.

I have been wanting to use this polka dot DP for sometime now and I know it's different from the usual sky but I do love the shade of blue so I used it. Flowers and leaves were stamped. Applied Viva decor white on the flower centers. Ground was a mix of DI and colored pencils.

Sugar Bowl: Blues

For this fortnight's Sugar Bowl we have a sketch from Maria Therese and the theme is BLUES.

I've rotated the sketch this way....

I used Festive Friends and they were colored with Copics. Aren't they cute? I was thinking of what color their noses would be. I did orange for the snowman and for Santa, initially wanted to color it red but Rudolph's nose was already red so flesh it is. ;o)

I did a round snowflake border around them instead of a square. I think it's a little wonky but not too bad. Papers are from my old Memory Box stash. I am trying to use what I have since they are just sitting there looking pretty har har. MS icicle punch (reason for the rotated sketch) and silver threads for the band. I also did some sponging around the edges of the card.

Okay, getting to my post....

I have the lovely Belinda with Teddy and she was colored with Copics. She is one of the new releases from the Sweet Art Girls 2 collection. I've made a simple card, 4 1/4" x 5 1/2", that is quite easy to mass produce specially if you're in a hurry. The border is a MS punch and I scored the top and bottom of the band. And some bling ... just because ;o)

My image is called Sweet Summer Days . She was colored with Copics. I made a joy fold card and used a lot of papers (in my opinion) from the Cosmo Cricket's Togetherness mini 6x6 pad. This turned out to be a very thick card. :)

Whole card opened. I was so iffy about the insides which is why it looks like this. :(

All three images were stamped in light brown ink so I have the option of either coloring them (colored pencils?) or stamping a sentiment on top of the lightly stamped image. I am sure the middle part is for notewriting though. :)

Pretty in Patches on this side of the card. The back of the flower is a pocket. :)

Country Ride on the back of the flap. I cut out another set of pink scallop, red circle and cream cs so the back portion of the flap would look nice too.

Not sure if I wanted to color her or stamp a sentiment. I'd be happy to take suggestions?

I'll post an updated version of this card when I can....

I am pretty late to submit this for our

Belles N Whistles Challenge with a theme of "girly cards"

I used Belle's Strawberry Tea and of course she was colored with Copics. Die cuts are spellbinders floral motifs. I do not remember what the DP is, it's been in my stack of papers for awhile - I have been hesitating to use these DP for a long time because they are so pretty!

Here's another view. I used the remaining scrap and placed it under the MS flower punch.

EBW Monthly Challenge: Christmas!

We would love to see your Christmas cards at this month's Elisabeth Bell's World Challenge
It is indeed Christmas in July ;)

I've combined Letters to Santa and Frosty the Snowman to make a Christmas scene. They were colored with Copics. Letters to Santa has snow on the background and Frosty the Snowman does not, so I added some white dots to the whole scene to make it look like it's snowing (evenly). Applied chunky white glitter on the oval frame for a sparkly snow effect.

I used MS holly punch for the outermost card edge. Cuttlebug folder underneath the oval frame.

Opened card..

Just on top of the sentiment, I scored a single line.. I am sorry it is not showing at all. I have tried to take photos of it but you can see it better on the first photo (underneath the red cs). Cosmo Cricket (?) DP is scrap from previous projects :) Closed card measures 6" x 4 3/4".

A bookmark for Mom

I've made a bookmark for my mom.. if she doesn't want it, well I could always use a new one :)

For this project, I used A Tasty Read.. She was colored with Copics and for her clothing gel pens. I had this Girl's Paperie DP collection in mind when I colored her but I think a little too dark :P

Back of the bookmark is blank for note writing or for what ever message I may write ;)

Splash time with Duckie!

Hello! It's my turn to post today at the Digi Bells blog and I have made a card using Duckie.

He was of course colored with Copics. I applied Viva Decor glitter pen on the bubbles so they would be extra shiny. I left the puddle on the floor alone but now am thinking I might add the glitter liner on it :P Flower centers were also glittered. The round sentiment is from my DT sister Kathy - it's an old one and I really love it. Thanks Kathy! :) Of course, I had to add some faux stitching around it and dots around the blue frame for more "bubbles". I used an old Memory Box DP that looked like bubbles too.

Belles N Whistles: Complimentary Colors

It's my turn to host this latest Belles N Whistles challenge and I have chosen the theme of

Complimentary Colors.

You choose the opposite colors on the Color Wheel.

I've used the complimentary colors blue and orange for my card.

Goggles was colored with copics and then cut out. Sky was airbrushed. The sandcastles in the background are an EK success punch then did some shading for the sand with colored pencils. Clouds are PTI dies. Card is 4 x 5 1/2" opening sideways.

All right, cutting down the chatter as you have some hopping to do. ;)

I made a Sweets/Ice Cream Shoppe. It's supposed to be an old shop and I hope it looks that way. I wanted the little girl with the bubble gum to be inside the shop but it made more sense to have sweet sundae inside :) All coloring was done with Copics.

There was no door so I enlarged one of the windows to make a door. I removed the pathway under the window. I had to make their clothes more colorful as I think there's too much brown in my card.

Card base is Kraft cs. Card measures 5 3/4" x 5 5/8" (closed).

I punched out mini flowers (stickle centers) to make it more interesting. I just think it's more cute :)

Lift the roof (flap)....(Used glossy accents on the round bubble gum case)

we see the full view of the little girl eating her yummy sundae

(reminds me of San Francisco's Ghirardelli sundaes - yummy sigh)

Sweet Sundae was colored with Copics. Striped paper is a magazine freebie. Border stamp is Crafty Secrets Kitchen set stamped with Tea Dye Distress ink. Unfortunately, my paper is not a perfect square so the borders are obviously off on 2 corners. :( Hand stitched the edges of cream cs with a blue green thread.

I've inked up "My Friend Kitty" from the Simply Sassy range. Colored with Copics. For lace, I used a MS deep edge punch. I sponged the edges and drew crisscross marks on it to make it look more like lace. Pearls, hand stitching and Faux stitching - I miss it :) DP is from Girl's Paperie that I bought last year. I love the look of these papers have but hesitate to use them lol! Yes, that is a pink satin ribbon peeking under there. :)

Fairy Wishes

Whew..late late late.. :P Today, I am presenting Peek-a-boo. She is a darling cutie colored with Copics. For a change, I have colored the background with colored pencils. Sentiment is a computer print out.

My cards are always so bare of ribbons and flowers so I tried to make a different card opening today...

I colored Bubble and Squeek with Copic Markers. Red Spica Pens for the hearts. I used a heart Spellbinders die for the small window. For the arch, I used a round Spellbinders Grand Die. Closed card measures 4 1/4" x 4 3/4".

Bubbles and Squeek are celebrating away in their homey hideaway (thus the mouse hole card shape) ... broken floors and shabby walls, also colored with Copic markers. I know realistically, the interior should be darker than what's showing ... ;)

I almost added a gold lining around this whole arched frame but decided against it in the last minute as this part of the card might end up too heavy compared to the other parts so I left it like this.. I can always repair the card ;)

This card can be anything from a Happy Anniversary, Cheers, Bon Voyage (going to miss you), Happy Birthday, Congratulations, Valentine card, you get the idea :)

Covered the back portion of the colored image with a DP from Crafty Secrets. You can write your note/letter on the middle part. No time to take extra photos while constructing anything :( I'll try to do a another post explaining how I did things but right now I have to quickly type in this posting and do the next card, then it's a whole week of posts. (I know, don't faint lol!)

I've rotated the sketch this way...

I've finally inked up this Kathy Hare image called Searching. Coloring was done with Copics and the flowers on the meadow are little drops of Viva Decor Pens. I think I may have colored the clouds as bushes too :P (sorry) Instead of using a black cs for a mat underneath the October Afternoon DP, I traced the edges with a Sharpie. The strip on the middle part are scraps from previous Spellbinder die cuttings.

I ran out of space for the 3rd flower so I placed it on the right :P

I used a strip of wool felt, cut straight lines, pasted one end and kept turning it till I reached the center.. I just left the edges with a flat layer. It's a rolled flower... I think that's what it's called. :( I wanted my flowers to look fresh and clean cut... umm daisies were in my mind but they're not looking like daisies.

I am not so sure I got this sketch right. lol! I forgot all about the curve on the left side. I do think the sketch is fabby - it's me that's terrible with sketches. :(

The sentiment part was really left blank so I can use this card for any occasion. I am also color coordinated challenged lol! The lovely image is Susan from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design. I bought these a long time ago and only got this image inked up. :D

Susan was colored with Copics. Papers are Basic Grey.

Colored with Copics. The red paper is from Paper Temptress and it's called Skinny Columns. I really think this striped texture is perfect for the theme of my card. :) Colored cream pearls with black because I couldn't find my brads :(

I am sorry the paper piercing and image placement is a bit wonky. I used the Grand Square scalloped dies for the whole card. The card measures 5 1/2" x 5 1/2".

I stamped and colored Fairy Nice Flower on Cryogen White paper. This paper is really shimmery and I really loved using it with this fairy :) Magical looking (almost). ;) The brown round frame (it's looking black but it is really brown) is called Hot Fudge and pink shimmer paper on the background is Azalea. Gorgeous stuff.

I did the same layout and used a 6 x6 Webster's Pages DP again. I think I'll make a fairy collection like this. The die cuts have been moved a bit farther out.

Fairy Nice Flower is from the Belles N Whistles Fairy Friends Collection. UK and European customers can also buy these from Quixotic Paperie.

Sugar Bowl 57: Purple and Green

So Sorry Maria :( Sorry everyone.

I've finally colored Joy using Copics! Don't look to close.. too many coloring mistakes hahaha. :P I colored the bangs shorter so her left eye would show more. I hope that's ok. The round frame and folded doilies were mounted on 3d foam for extra extra lift. ;) It's almost 1/2" fluffed up. I earlier planned on decorating the edges of the round frame with purple/lilac roses but went with using (cut and folded) doilies instead. The lace on Maria's sketch was too tempting to pass :)

I used Viva Decor Glitter liners around the round frame and a few more here and there on the doilies. I also adhered cream flat back pearls on the doilies. These are from Quixotic Paperie. I have been hoarding them lately and needed an excuse to use them :) I used cream cs around the green dp so the center would be the focus of the card.

I've used Happy Mail for my first card. She is from the SweetArt girls collection and yes, she was one of the earlier released images from Sugar Nellie. She was colored with Copics. Edges were sponged. For the card base, I stamped flowers with Memento Sahara ink. Card is 5 1/2" x 5 1/2". Very easy to look at but I had a hard time finishing this card. Very happy with the turn out. :)

My second project is my favorite (took me longer to make) This is 6" x 6" and honestly not a card - maybe a scrapbook cover? I used Fairy Fond Thoughts. She was colored with Copics. Background was airbrushed. Made an extra pair of wings on vellum and added Viva Glitter liner. Her wings are not fully adhered, I folded the edges to make them a bit 3d. Viva gold pens on the flower centers and her hair ribbon. Viva blue pen for her beaded strap. Viva pink for the flowers on her dress. Yep, I love these Viva pens.

The paper is Webster's pages Collection pack. No idea what the name is because it's old. It's really gorgeous and I wanted to use the background for her. The edges were lined with gold pen. I also used Spellbinders floral doilies motif around the round frame.

Letter from a Friend

I've inked and colored the darling image, Letter from a Friend. She is a lovely gift (happy mail) from Elaine of Quixotic Paperie. This is from the Spring Sampler release from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design. ETA: Quixotic Paperie has these available online too :) Elaine has this Spring Sampler set on sale right now! :)

She was colored with Copics, cut out and adhered on the oval frame. The oval frame was mounted on 3d foam. The frames are Spellbinder dies. Stamp, Basic Grey DP, stamped sentiment (Stempelglede) and Pearls are all from Quixotic Paperie. :)

I do not have a favorite technique. What I did instead was to use a few techniques a little bit different from the usual thing I do. I colored on vellum paper then added colored pencils for more color.

For my stamps, I used Dahlia and Flourishes (corner). It's not very visible but I stamped the stem with 2 small buds on the DP underneath the blossom. It's faint so it could blend in the background. Hmm maybe too light? :(

DP is from the Classic Pad also from Crafty Secrets. The lovely cream flat back pearls are from Quixotic Paperie. I have a stash of these and have been using them for the next few cards ;) The frame is Floral Doily Motifs by Spellbinders. Used 2 colors and mounted them (and the vellum) on 3d foam.

I stamped the dahlia on plain paper and then layered the vellum on top. You can see right through it so there was no need for a light underneath. Colored with Copics first then colored pencils. I do love the outcome and I really like the "no black lines" look. Might do it again ;)

Here's my take on the sketch..

Kiki always has these gorgeous flowers on her card. I do love her soft colors. :) I have a hard time adding flowers to my card so here's my attempt.

Make a wish (from the Home Grown Collection) was colored with Copics. Added white gel pen and silver glitter pen doodling on her dress. Did a diagonal scoring on the pink flap. The sentiment area has been left blank - I just inserted my watermark there. ;) The flowers were locally store bought.

Card opens like this. The DP is by Crafty Secrets and the insides were so pretty I wanted to use them too.

I made a planner. It's a planner for everything and anything. Something to put in my purse. I did not bother to put a clasp for it - I might be in a hurry to write and I am trying to avoid snags. :)

She was colored with Copics. Ground shading was done with colored pencil. The cover is kraft paper. The paper pad slides in a slot I made so this planner is refillable ;) I made a mini pocket on the left side (back of cover) as I might need to insert receipts or something ...

Here's my card.

Dreamcatcher is a digital image. This lovely fairy is shimmery shimmery! The edges of her skirt and wings were applied with silver glitters. Added spica gel pen on her wings. I cut her out with a circular nestie. The frames around her are also from Spellbinders and they were sponged with blue ink. I chose a blue metallic cs for the mat.

Sugar Bowl: Spring

Here's my take on the sketch.

This Gorgeous girl called A little birdie told me was colored with Copics. She was cut out and taped to a leafy seat. The leafy seat was mounted on 3d foam. Please note that the new Gorjuss girls sold at Funky Kits are not manufactured under Sugar Nellie so they can't be used to enter the Sugar Bowl Challenges. :(

The background (sky and grass) was airbrushed. Flowers on the ground is a stamped image. The wooden embossed strip is my tree. I had to re-do this card front a couple of times because I can't draw a decent tree so I ended up using a strip of kraft cs embossed with woodgrain.

Mmm! Yes! Please!

Hello! I've made a recipe booklet today :)

It's a very late submission of sorts. :P

I've used Mmm! Yes! Please! from the Belles N Whistles Collection.

Coloring was done with Copics.

On the bottom of the image, I used PTI's doily edge die. I used kraft chipboard for the hard cover underneath. The recipe booklet has 5 tabs/dividers for now. I am planning to decorate each divider :) Elisabeth has quite a few cooking themed images and I am pretty excited to use them for this booklet. I used rings for the booklet so you can add and remove pages whenever and as much as you like. For more pages use bigger rings.

I chose the lovely Shey the mermaid for my card.

She is a digital image drawn by Hannah Lynn for Crafts and Me.

For my complementary colors I chose Red Orange and Blue Green.

I used gold Viva decor pens on her necklace & buttons. Light Green viva decor pens on her clothes - it's really shimmery in front of me. Stickles on her hair (on the line) and tail (scales). Drew some bubbles around her. For the frame, I used MS punch around the page (it looks like scales) so I added them. Sponged the scallops with Distress inks and added mint green glitter randomly on top.

YR61, 65, 68, 0, BG000, 10, 11, 13, 15, 18, C1, 2, 3, 5

Here's my non colored card...gasp!!! I know... everything has been done digitally. The Simply Adorable images are so beautiful and I have seen gorgeous gorgeous coloring done with them so I wanted to do something different. I used Joy for my card. I bought the digital version because I wasn't sure if the rubber stamp one would fit in my layout and snail mail has been terrible. Digital images are such quick sugar fixes ;) You can't stamp them in different inks but you can print them out in different colors. :)

I was first tempted to cut three images out and layer them on black cardstock but quickly changed my mind - I wanted a flat card with a clean and simple look. Next time maybe.. I wanted the card to have a glossy look to it too so I printed the whole card front on glossy cardstock after I was satisfied with the design of the card front. Cut it and then adhered on a 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" card.

I was trying to decided which card to submit to Gayle and the black one won because I wasn't sure if this blue themed card was really C&S :) Printed on glossy cardstock. I'll be doing more of these when I have more time to experiment. I could also stamp and emboss the sentiment on the glossy cs for more texture but I thought of it after I printed this lovely out so that's another try for next time. There's really nothing else to say...

Copic Creations Challenge: Warm Colors

I used the digital image called FB Sunflower. These flower bears are so CUTE!!! I love this one best so I chose her. I only used the head for my card. It is mounted on 3d foam and so is the spiky frame.

Card measures 5 1/2" x 5 1/2". Grand Scallop Square nestability die (3rd I think). Ran the red square cs through a polka dot plate and did a little sponging to make the dots show more. For the orange spiky frame, I used the Grand Scallop circle die and ran it over the same cs, but moved it to make the spikes. Faux stitching and faux dots.

Copics used: E30, 31, 33, 35, 37, R20 (cheeks and ears), Y13, 15, 17, 26, 0

I love the look of embossing. I love to use 3d foam. I love the look of flowers and ribbons on other people's cards but I so rarely use them...I used bits for this card.

Sugar Bowl 53 : Color Option

It's square - erm the sketch is just missing the square frame ;)

Here's my take on the sketch and color scheme.

Pillow Talk was colored with Copics. I've done a little adjusting to the sketch.. It's there and I hope you can see it. :P Giant pillow behind her for the vertical block. Added a little pillow on her foot. For the horizontal strip, I used a lace edge to represent bed sheets, to make it look like she's on the bed. hee :)

She was mounted with 3d foam. I did a little reverse with the colors. Instead of a major white card I did a blue one.

One of the flowers on the left is missing a pearl. I had to do it so...

you can swing the top like this...

There is an eyelet under the blue pillow. ;)

I do not have crackled distress paints to accomplish the weathered look so had to find another way to go about it. I wanted that weathered wood look in my card. :)

Card front:

Stamped CHF weathered wood bg stamp on blue cs with cream ink. Sponged edges with white ink.

Stamped same weathered wood bg stamp on the round white cs. Stamped sentiment. Glued on card base, glued flowers around the white frame. I then embossed everything with a woodgrain plate. Thank you SCS for the pressed flower technique :)

I was able to take photos of how I did the inside part - it's basically the same step as the front. :)

Supplies used: Brown cs cut with grand nestabilities (Smallest circle), Lacey scallop circle, Largest circle from the classic circle nestabilities die. These are the same sizes as the ones used on the card front.

Adhered brown cs with double sided tape on blue cs.

Adhered the lacey scallop on top of the brown cs. Using little glue, adhered flowers. Ran the whole group through the Big Shot using a woodgrain embossing plate.

Distressed edges this time with cream ink for my weathered look. Added pearls on the flower centers. These lovely pearls were brought from Quixotic Paperie. :) Placed the last round cream cs on the very top for note writing. Adhered the whole topper on the white and brown card base. whew :)

Brown card base is 5 1/2" x 5 1/2".

Kept the colors on my card as simple as I could - just used mix of greens and blues.

The sentiment was stamped a little high though and yes, I left the upper left portion of the image white. ;)

Sugar Bowl DT: LOVE

Here's my take... minus the sentiment. :(

You're probably wondering where the "love" is? I got all excited when I saw the wings on Maria's sketch and decided to do a fairy one of many topics that I love. I love fairy tales. I love to read books. I love to color. Love glitter...So instead of the usual mushy, love and romance theme - I did this. :) I hope that's okay Maria... :)

Poppy was colored with Copics. Viva decor pens on her antennae. Gold glitters on her shoes and dress. Background was airbrushed with Copics then sponged edges with SU inks. Leaves are Spellbinders. Berries are from stash.

I had to add wings on the cute flower fairy. This is the card base. The beige card was airbrushed with E31. It was too stark plain. :) The wings were adhered with double sided tape.

This took me the longest to do..the wings. I got all excited thinking of what I wanted to do which is use acetate to make her wings see through, I'll add glitters and so on.. So with happy thoughts I began to make her wings.

The hardest part was applying the glitters. ETA: I sketched the butterfly wings on scratch paper first. Placed acetate on top then used a quickie glue pen to trace the wings. It dries quick and the glitters were all over the place. It's very hard to apply them on acetate. Static, static, static! :( I had to leave "holes" to put the pearls in as pearls might not stick on glitter. After all that, I then applied white lines with gel pen. Cut the acetate in the shape you see above (girl in center). Airbrushed the backside of the acetate with yellow then dabbed some colorless blender to get the splotchy areas. I hope I making sense. Then instead of pearls (ran out really) I used Viva Icing pearl pen to fill in the "holes" Ta da!

I folded wings a bit so they look 3d then adhered the middle part of the wings flat on the card with double sided tape. Poppy was adhered with a double dose of foam tape so she wouldn't "bump" into her wings. I wanted to put flowers on the background behind her but decided against it the last minute since I was out of time and I thought the scene might get too crowded. I just added berries on the leaves.
Whole card is 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" and this will fit in a 6" envie. ;)

I used one of their digital image called Cherry Blossoms.

I also used my new Cuttlebug folder and new paper to try out the Copic Xpress blending paper. For the flower centers I used gold glitter and for the oval frame edge some stickles. Did an out of the nestie technique for the flowers and folded the exposed flowers up a bit for 3d effect. It's very easy to color these and I might do another one for mom but using brown cs :)

For my project, I made a small mini candy box treat using PTI's die. Colored using Copics and added gold glitters to her crown, frog's crown and white upper part of her gown. I used color blue for her gown to have a change from the usual pink. Of course, I filled the mini tote with KISSES candy :)

Airbrushed the edges with Copics. I wanted clean and simple.

For my card I rotated the sketch this way..

Here's my take on the sketch. I've inked and colored this lovely Simply Sassy image called Hippy Chick with Copics. Applied Glossy accents on her green eyes.

I've embossed the Cosmo Cricket DP (Material Girl) and with a Cuttlebug folder (Heritage collection). The frame behind her is a Magnolia stamp that I cut in half and I placed a cream cs in the middle.

Side view of the embossed MS butterflies. I used Sizzix folders for these I think it was called Damask. Glued the butterflies on the gold strings.

Copic Creations: Make it Sparkly!

I used this adorable snowman image from the Old Fashioned Chirstmas 3/14" set. Colored with Copic markers and since the challenge is Sparkle, I used a lot of glitters and spica pens on this image. I am sorry it is not showing on the photo well.

Kraft cardstock base, sponged edges with white craft ink then added clear glitter on top. The red line is red glitter sprinkled on top of double sided tape. Snowflake has glittered centers. The round edges were lined with gold glitters and the berries with red glitters. I added clear spica pens on the leaves.

Snowman. I added spica pen on top and I tried to make it look furry so I colored a bit outside the lines. Scarf added gold glitters and more spica pens. The card really shiny/sparkly in real life.. I am just a poor photographer lol! :P

Copic Creations: Light Source

Sorry I am late with this post ... still on blogging break but slowly getting back to crafting....

For this Copic Creations challenge our topic is Light Source.

This cute digital image is called Cuddle Dragon from their Meljen's Design line.

I knew I wanted a purple dragon so I colored her first but as always, struggled with the card construction. :P I had to choose between a whimsy feel or a medieval looking one. This won :)

My light source is coming from top right, left and center..

To be honest, I don't really follow the light source thing to heart. I just color where I want to put the shadows or highlights. I always tell people to have fun when you color.. don't stress. Just color.

Copic colors used:

V000, V12, V15, V17, C3, C7, C9 and 0

Card is 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" (Green base)

Materials:

Merry Sledding is an addition to the Snowbabies Collection. She was colored with Copics on Cream cs. I used Spellbinders Giga Square scallops and the Lacey circles for my card. Kraft cs, Cosmo Cricket Mitten Weather. There's nothing really left to say about the card :)

Digi Bells Card

I made a card that coordinates with the 3x3 note cards I made earlier. I've combined I love you this much and Little Rapunzel for my card :) They were colored with Copics. The butterflies are rubber stamps from the Sugar Nellie Sweet Ebony line that are not available for sale anymore.

I used Spellbinders Scalloped edge frame. Cut out 2 of these (cream cs) and did a little surgery to make one big scallop frame. Card is 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" Kraft cs.

Inside.

Card with mini cards set. I had to use the same color combo and bigger scallops to match. I tried to use the smaller scallops but got frustrated and switched to bigger ones. DPs are Cosmo Cricket Togetherness.

Elisabeth Bell's World Challenge: Mini Note cards

Hello and welcome to the 1st Elisabeth Bell's World Challenge!

Our challenge will run once a month. :)

Followed a 3x3 Note card box tutorial from Splitcoast Stampers by Laurie Schmidlin.

If I were to do these again I would make my cards a little bigger 3.5" x 3.5" :)

I also cut the kraft box height a little shorter.

I did the adjustment after noticing the 6 notecards were below the middle of the box :(

Mini box closed - Did a see through window...

Mini cards - this box can fit up to 12 note cards. I think I should make more as I only made 6.

Sugar Bowl 46: Boys theme

I combined two images for this card. Mr. Stocking and Manga Boy. I colored them with Copics then cut them out. Mounted on cream cs, then kraft. Did some faux stitching on the small brown frame.

This is a "Cheer Up" card. The boy in the front isn't smiling so you know who's cheering up who ;). "Smile" was stamped with brown ink.

Square base is 5 1/2" x 5 1/2". Cork paper is from an old DCWV stack. Hand-stitched crochet thread around edges. I wanted the card to have a school-type look.

Flap opens downwards. You can remove the rubber band that's placed under the buttons. I had to use 4 buttons for a balanced look. Background was stamped in grey ink.

Belles N Whistles: Fall Colors!

We have a new Belles N Whistles challenge blog!! :)

It gets blurred if I make it bigger....

The theme for this challenge is FALL COLORS

Eden with Teddy was colored her with Copics. For her dress prints/patterns - Copics, green and white gel pen. Background was sponged with distress inks. Orange stickle on top of the white ribbon on her hair.

I have seen a few blogs with the leaves around the frame so I decided to case the idea and added a few shiny leaves too. MS leaf punch, rhinestone leaves are from stash. Orange mat was embossed with PTI linen. Oval from Spellbinders.

Oval frame was mounted on 3d foam because the rhinestones are bulky.

This image was an inspiration from a photo of Elisabeth's daughter, Eden.

Colored with Copics. The christmas lights are turned off for my image, so there is no light coming from the little bulbs. Added Stickles to the ribbons on the tree, holly on her hair, middle of snowflake on her nightshirt, throw pillow edges and the christmas balls on the throw pillow. Lined the round frame with a gold pen. Patterned paper is PTI. Card is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".

Here's my take on the sketch... minus the sentiment :) Will place it when I know what I need the card for...

Meet fashion brand conscious Raven, a member of the Spice Girls from the Home Grown range. I colored her with Copics. I love her coat and decided to play with it. :) For the plaid, white gel pen, back sign pen and red spica glitter pen.

I was really challenged with arranging the colors for this layout. I wanted plain and I wanted bold colors to match a particular brand ;) I had to restrain from using faux stitching, paper piecing and any other kind of treatment. I hope you like the look. :)
